Where is the studio located?

The studio is located in Astoria, Queens right outside of midtown Manhattan on the N,W,R,M lines. If you'd prefer to shoot outdoors, on-location or in a studio/space you have in mind - let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate!

What is the difference between a headshot and creative portrait?

A typical headshot is an image focused on the upper torso, maximum 3/4. Headshots for actors are tools used for casting submissions that showcase a particular look or suggestion as a character type. It is essential that a headshot be lit and framed properly to catch the attention of casting directors. It is also essential that clothing be intentionally selected and hair & makeup be done in a camera-ready professional way so you will effectively communicate a particular look and not be distracting. Myself and our hair and makeup artist will help you with this!

Creative portraits and branding images by contrast give us more room to explore, play and showcase your unique personality. These portraits are a way of expressing who you are, your brand, and what you love through creative imagery. If you're brainstorming for a portrait session I find creating a Pinterest board filled not only with photos you love, but also colors, objects and ideas that inspire you. After we come up with a clear concept (I'm happy to jump on a call to discuss ideas!), it helps to create a killer playlist that inspires you to move and be free.

Again, the best images are the spontaneous ones, so we'll stay inspired but also collaborate to make something special in the moment - just like we do on the stage and screen.

Let's be creative and have fun, shall we?

Do I need to book a hair & makeup artist?

Booking with one of our collaborative hair & makeup artists is HIGHLY recommended for any session. On the day of your session, we want you to be relaxed, care free, and focused on your objectives. That's why having a professional there to get you looking camera ready is SO essential. Collaborating with one of our hair & makeup artists also directly influences the professional quality of your final images, trust me! The hair and makeup artist will be on set throughout our session to keep you looking your best and to perform any look changes so we can stay in the moment without any worries.

Can we meet before our session?

Yes! I'm happy to schedule a Zoom call with you prior to our session to discuss any questions you have, hear what your goals are, brainstorm ideas, and get to know each other a bit prior to shooting! We can also discuss your type, and wardrobe ideas. I know this whole process can sometimes feel overwhelming and kinda scary, I'm here for you! As a working actor and someone who has been in your shoes, I'm here to give you the best advice I've got and to assure you that you've got this! We'll work to express the most authentic version of what you've to bring to the table.

What is a 'Look'?

For actors, a 'look' refers to the overall mood and role type you are achieving. This includes hair/make-up and wardrobe. We shoot different looks within a headshot session to showcase a particular actor's range. Each "look" is a way to showcase a different side of you, or a different character type that you can play.

Taking a layer or jacket, glasses, or jewelry off does not constitute as a look change. We will explore and try different things for a while within each look before moving on to the next one.

How/When do I get my proofs and final edits?

You will receive your proofs within 5-7 days of your shoot. They will be in an online gallery. Once received you are allowed to download your web-sized proofs to your computer, as well as share them with your friends, family, and/or representation.

For retouched photos, our turnaround time is 7-10 days.

The rush fee is $135 for a 48-hr turnaround time of retouched images.
